If there is still doubt, consider assigning a small paid work trial with clearly defined parameters, or request samples of past work and verify authorship through follow-up discussion.

When a fake candidate is identified, it is important to document all red flags and interactions. Communication should remain professional, with a standard withdrawal message informing the candidate that the company will not be proceeding.
